My favorite weekend of the football season — homecoming — was packed with work and fun this year. And I wouldn’t have had it any other way!
It is always great to see your former classmates and friends that you made in your time at school. Unfortunately it gets harder and harder to see each other as time goes on, but homecoming, and football season in general, help bring some of us together!
I was able to make it to Columbia, Mo., on Friday for my first Mizzou Homecoming Real World luncheon since graduating from Mizzou in December 2010. I have attended the luncheon in the past as a student, but this was the first time I was able to come back as a graduate and a working media professional.

The luncheon reunites us back in our old stomping grounds at KOMU-TV (NBC) where we are able to visit with old classmates and professors, while also sharing our “real world” knowledge with current students and those about to enter the job market.
It was a fabulous time and it was so great to also meet new people and network with other former Mizzou students who have since gone on to graduate and excel in the business after me.
Kicking off the homecoming festivities on Saturday, we were invited to take part in the parade for the second year in a row as the FOX Sports Midwest Girls, partnering with the St. Louis Rams. It is always a wonderful to come back to my Alma mater and be featured in the parade!

Game day continued as I was able to meet with old friends and also assume my duties as the Mizzou Football in-game host and emcee.

I was also assuming my FOX Sports Midwest duties during the game, manning our social media accounts and helping accept and award on behalf of the network at halftime.
After the game and dinner at an old Mizzou favorite, it was time to head out to Kansas City. Sunday I attended the St. Louis Rams vs. Kansas City Chiefs game with my roommate from Mizzou.
It was my first NFL game at Arrowhead, and it did not disappoint!
