The Cardinals, players, fans, road trip, Mizzou — now that’s my kind of trip! I was given the privileged to ride on one of the Cardinals Caravans this weekend to kick off the 2015 season. With six caravans total, it was a blast to see the Cardinals bring the club directly to Cardinal Nation and Mid-Missouri first-hand.

FOX Sports Midwest gave me the opportunity to follow players Trevor Rosenthal, Sam Freeman and top prospects Tim Cooney and Charlie Tilson’s bus trip, along with a few Cardinals front office employees. We made stops in Moberly, Jefferson City, Sedalia and Columbia, Mo.

Each day I turned a video package highlighting the day’s activities. Day one I chose to focus on the fan experience:

We were able to make a special stop at the state capital on our way to the Jeff City caravan event, where we met Gov. Jay Nixon and were given a tour of some remote places of the capital building. It was a neat experience that the players likened to the movie “National Treasure.”

Day two we ended at my Alma mater, where they players received a standing ovation when they were recognized at the Men’s basketball game that evening. It was such a sight to see our home crowd give our St. Louis Cardinals such a warm welcome. This video I chose to highlight the player’s caravan experience:

I was also able to upload more behind-the-scenes video and photos to our Burst account, where it populated the FOX Sports Midwest website: http://www.foxsports.com/midwest/story/sights-and-sounds-from-the-cardinals-caravan-011615
