I am thrilled to announce that I’ll be participating in the upcoming World Invitational Father & Daughter Tournament hosted by Carr Golf in Ireland! It’s always been a dream of mine, not only visit Ireland, but also to play golf there – and getting to do this with my dad is a dream come true!
My dad introduced me to the game of golf when I was young. He took me to a few clinics as a kid and I enjoyed it, but it wasn’t until I was about 13-years-old that I decided to really pick up the game and give it a serious go.
Now, I’ve become my dad’s favorite scramble partner (hello, ladies tees!) and I’ll never forget the day I beat him on the course for the first time (sorry, dad!).
We have countless memories together as a family playing golf and even though my passion for the game has led me away from my hometown of St. Louis and to Florida for the PGA TOUR, I know he’s proud of me – which makes it all worthwhile.
This year is going to be a special one for us – in a few months he’s going to walk me down the aisle on my wedding day and the thought of that already makes me tear up. But I cannot tell you how excited I am that we get to fly over to Ireland together, soon after, to get the team back together for the World Invitational Father & Daughter Tournament.
This will be our first trip to Europe together & my dad’s first trip across the pond, ever. In its 11th year, I’m sure tournament founder Marty Carr had envisioned bringing dads and their daughters together when it first began – but this is beyond special for us, given that we only see each other a handful of times per year.

Carr Golf’s Father & Son Tournament has seen the likes of Wayne Gretsky, Dan Marino, Tom Fazio and more compete over 28-years in Waterville. So I’m excited to join Golf Channel’s Matt Ginella to help elevate the Father/Daughter event that has grown to nearly 50 teams in its 11-year history.
To have the chance to connect with other girls from around the world on the golf course, is an honor and I hope to help bring together my fellow females on the course as a result. The week won’t be about how well we play (though I’ve been practicing my trusty hybrid pitch shot for the links), but about the memories we make.
Carr Golf is not only giving us the opportunity to test our game on the world-renowned Waterville Golf Links, but has also arranged dinners, gatherings & site seeing during our visit to the Ring of Kerry in Ireland.
We will definitely have just as much fun as the boys and I cannot wait to take you on our journey! Keep up with giveaways, announcements and more on my social media accounts and if you are interested in coming with us and participating in the event – reach out to me on Instagram or to Alison on the Carr Golf team: [email protected].
