Have you struggled with work-life balance? Or are interested in how to break into sports journalism? I sat down with up-and-coming podcaster Madison Brandt for her “Deep Talk” podcast to talk life, work & love.

We talk about how it’s ok not to know what you want to do when you enter college. How I was able to forge contacts in a business, where I knew no one and how zig-zags in your career are inevitable and will lead you to where you are destined to be.
Chatting for almost an hour, Madison was such a pleasure to talk with — she asked the deeper questions and pulled back each layer of my career, life and personality. A college student herself, she was able to ask me the important questions that many students at university would seek to ask a mentor in their field of interest.
If you take away any messages from this podcast, I hope you realize:
- It’s ok not to have all the answers right now. I had no idea what I wanted to do when I entered college.
- Be grateful for where you are in the moment. I’ve had to learn to stop looking for that next step in my career and to enjoy where I am now.
- You will have to make sacrifices to get where you want to go. But you the ultimate joy comes when you can turn your passions and interests into a career.
I hope you enjoy our Deep Talk!
